Goa....Home

Our last stop is on the beaches of Goa. We are spending our last week at a nice resort on the beach and are loving it! There is a swimming pool, bar, restaurant, lounge chairs, air conditioning,a fridge where we can make ice cubes, beautiful gardens, internet, live entertainment, sunsets, long beach walks, and much more...Wonderful! It's been a nice treat after being on the road for so long.
Here's to Great Trip! All good things must come to an end and it's time to come home... We had a great time on our adventure and can't wait to share more of our stories.

Cheers from Mumbai

Where we are staying in Mumbai is a nice clean area with a large English influence...We like it here and have been enjoying all the comforts of home like pizza, breads, ice cream, ice, and coffee!

But it is still India...Today when we were walking on a crowded sidwalk with vendors on each side, Dean stepped right on on a Big Rat...we thought it was a squeeker toy someone was trying to sell unitl it walked away still squeeking...:)

Let's take a walk in Delhi...

Table Top Mountain,Cape Town

We are Out of Africa...
but I finally have internet just outside our room I can post some more pictures.

It was a rocky three hour climb but we made it...We were both very thankful for the tram down... :)

Golden Triangle by Train

The train route we took...
Some of our trains were air conditioned sleepers which are great but one of the 6 hour rides was on what we like to call the cattle car...not so good...
We started in Delhi and took the train to Agra to see the Taj Mahal. The next day we took a train to Jaipur-the pink city- for a couple of nights. From there we went to Jaisalmer-the golden city-with a very cool old fort where many people still live made of sandstone on the hill(this is where the camel safari started). Our last stop was Jodpur-the blue city- where they have an old village with lots of blue houses with a fort on a hill. In Jodpur we only had a day so we just shopped the textile markets and saw how many locals make bracelets,scarves,etc...very eye opening...

Camel Safari

We were taken by jeep about an hour out of town where we met our three guides and camels. After loading up we headed out into the desert for 3 days and two nights. It was a little rough around the edges...but a great experience.

Jaipur

Arrived in Jaipur...the Pink City!!! Since I happen to love pink it's fun to see all the vintage pink color on all the buildings,gates,stools,etc... It's still crazy here but not so much. We met a nice girl from Holland who is now traveling with us for the next week.
We take the train tomorrow to Jaisalmer for the camel safari...another adventure!

Delhi,India

This place is absolutely crazy!!! It's all we expected but much much more. Just walking down the street you are surrounded by rickshaws,taxi's,motorbikes,tuk-tuks,bikes,cows,goats,dogs... with poop from all, garbage, bricks, dirt, touters(people trying to sell you something or anything),food vendors, rotting food,smells-good and bad...,and tons of people. Wait we forgot to mention all the Horn's blaring...
The women are all wearing very beautiful sari's which add a splash of color to this chaos.
We've seen it all and are somewhat overwhelmed....
Dean's simple description..., "HOLY CRAP!!"
We are taking the train to Agra tomorrow to see the Taj...which we are looking forward to.

Shark Attack

On our way to Cape Town we stopped and did a cage dive with the Great White Sharks!

I keep trying to add more pictures but for some reason it's working at this time.
Basically you take the boat out early in the morning and we lucked out and had a perfect day with calm water.
They attach a cage next to the boat and five people can fit in at a time. A guy throws a tuna head out into the water and leads the shark to the front of the cage. When Dean and I were inside a shark came up and bumbed his nose on the front of the cage...very exciting!
